Who Will Make a Better President?

Here's what we think:

I would vote for John McCain. I would vote for him because I agree with his plans with his for alternative energies, like nuclear power plants which produce less harmful emissions then a regular coal run power plant, and I agree with his foreign policies with Iran and Iraq.
I would also vote for John McCain because I think we need to drill off the coast for oil so we can reduce our dependence on foreign oil. McCain supports importing cheaper drugs, instead of the universal health care plan proposed by Obama.
Another reason is that he supports cutting down on harmful fuel emissions and supports tax credits to companies that can create affordable zero emission cars. I also agree that the building of nuclear power plants will greatly help the environment and reduce our dependency on coal generated power and with John McCain's plans to build 100 power plants over the next few years as president nuclear energy would provide over fifty percent of America's power. I am voting for John McCain.

The candidates, Obama and McCain in the presidential election both have similar and different ideas. I like Obama's ideas because there are some things about illegal immigration. I agree on the fact that the Obama should still keep illegal immigrants out because they come here illegally without a citizenship. I think that taking troops from Iraq is shrewd because I think that Bush already killed soldiers. I think that if Bush sends all those troops to Iraq then he should fight as well. I think that the idea that Obama has is smart because we already went there for five years and done nothing but get Sudden Hussein. McCain thinks that we still should be in Iraq and I think that is just nonsense because the question I have is that, "what are you going to do there?" I would vote for Obama as the new president.

The presidential election is coming up and I'm not allowed to vote because I'm only 13. The Democratic candidate is Barack Obama and the Republican candidate is John McCain. If I could vote I'd vote for BARACK OBAMA! One of the reasons that I'd vote for him is because he was Illinois state senator. Many people think that he is a bad senator because he's taking so much time doing his campaign, that he hasn't had enough time to be Illinois's senator.
Another reason that I'd vote for him is because like me he opposes the war and always has. Unlike Obama, McCain supports the current administration plan. Obama doesn't approve of same sex marriage but McCain say it's state's choice. There are so many more reasons why I would vote for OBAMA :)! But these are the main ones. Also McCain looks like he's gonna bite you! MCCain :( or OBAMA :)

Out of the two candidates I want Barrack Obama to win because out of the comparison chart Barrack Obama wants to have all American troops out of Iraq and I think that is more necessary. Barrack Obama also wants to have monitoring of nuclear technology and want to make sure terrorists don't have any nuclear weapons and make sure terrorists don't get there hands on the nuclear technology. I don't really agree to Obama when he wants homeland security on high risked areas, but I do like the idea on tracking where nuclear fuel is spent so terrorists don't get the nuclear fuel and do something bad with it.

The presidential election is coming up, and a lot of people are wondering who others are going to be voting for. Even though I am too young to vote, I would vote for Barack Obama if I could. I think that Obama is the right person to lead our country because I like what he has to say about "the issues". Senator John McCain supports the current administration plan for the Iraq war. Obama, on the other hand, wants to pull out of Iraq as soon as possible. Another reason I would vote for Obama is because of his views on immigration. He wants to keep more illegal immigrants from entering the U.S., but he would allow the immigrants already here to apply for citizenship if they pay fines and taxes. I think that this is a very good strategy for solving the immigration problem. These are only two reasons to vote for Obama, but there are many more, and if I were 18 I know I would vote for him.

I think that John McCain would make the best U.S. president. There are many reasons. I think that McCain is way more experienced then Barack Obama. John McCain fought as a Navy Seal in the Vietnam War. He served in the Navy until 1981. In 1982 he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. He was then elected to the U.S. Senate. He was reelected in 2004. That is a lot of political experience. I like McCain's approach better to Iraq opposed to Obama's. McCain thinks that we should not leave Iraq until we win the war because we need to help the Iraqis government to be stronger and we need just to protect Iraq so it doesn't become a country filled with terrorists. The civil war in Iraq just needs to stop. Obama wants to immediately begin bringing the troops home from Iraq. I also think that McCain has a stronger energy policy. Not just the prices of gas and oil are going up the price of food and living is going up. McCain seems very worried about this issue. He will propose larger rewards for company's who can make more energy efficient cars. He also is making stiffer fines for companies that don't meet the standards. Most companies don't care if they have to pay that small fine so it must be stricter. McCain also supports putting a fence up for the Mexican border so illegal immigrants don't come in illegally. I also agree with John McCain's health care plan. These are some of the main issues where McCain stands. I think that all of the issues are important but the price of oil and gas and the War in Iraq are really important. I agree with McCain's plans on pretty much every issue. I think he is more trusted by people and I don't want America to be put into the hands of someone like Barack Obama who might not make smart decisions.

InZone Kids Speak Out

Ties to Corn Industry

Senator Obama says that corn –derived ethanol can be an alternate energy source. He also says that it will benefit the industry. This corn issue diverges John McCain. Obama says that eliminating the corn money will imperil our country's drive toward energy independence.
I think that this will definitely make help our country drive towards energy independence. By eliminating the corn money ,we will spend less on corn and more on our country's energy independence.

Amanda M.

Loophole

Barack Obama has been trying to close a loophole that exempts from U.S. regulation energy speculators who make trades electronically. The loophole, according to Obama was put in the 2000 energy policy bill. I think that he will not be able to because to many people don't think that the loophole is a big enough deal, and McCain is completely opposing this plan.

McCain Proposes Car Battery Tax
I think that it is a good idea for John McCain to offer $300 million dollars for someone who can make a car battery that far passes the current technology. I think this is good because gas prices are rising really quickly and there never going to go down. We need a car that has really good gas mileage. This will not only preserve gas and oil but it will save people lots of money. Oil is not an unlimited source so we can't just keep on using so much when we don't have to. Also I like that is he is making stiffer fines who don't meet the fuel efficiency standards. This will encourage the companies to make more efficient cars.

Philip M.

Obama vs. McCain: The Corn Industry
Presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain apparently have differing views about the corn industry. Throughout his campaign, Obama has supported the idea of using corn-derived ethanol. He says that this will benefit our nation's economy, and that getting rid of the corn money will "imperil our country's drive toward energy independence. However, McCain wants to end the use of corn as ethanol, and opposes a tariff on superior ethanol from Brazil. I think that eliminating the corn money is an excellent idea, because we will be able to focus less on corn and more on our country's energy independence.

Soaring Prices May Mean Cutting Farmer Prices

The Congress allowed parts of our corn to be made into ethanol and that means higher food prices means not a lot of people are going to buy it. The Congress is also cutting billions they give to the farmers for making ethanol. A reporter said ethanol hasn't been touched or used in decades. The corn being turned into ethanol has raised prices and citizens are blaming this idea for why prices are going very high.

Car Tax Credit
Senator John McCain says that he will give tax benefits to the car makers that make ethanol, or electric, vehicles, in response to last week's critism. The senator says that he will give a 5,000 tax credit to anybody that buys a zero emissions car. He also says that he'll give 300 million dollars in tax money to any car maker that produces a zero emission car.
Barack Obama says he would make a limit on how much gas companies charge for a gallon of gas.
Alex C.

Ties to Corn Industry Shape Obama's Policy
Obama and McCain are debating on if they should use ethanol as an alternative energy. The United States want different energy and if the fees to export something are high, then Brazil won't ship anything to the United States. Obama thinks that the United States should lower the tariffs then there will be more ethanol. I agree with Obama because eventually there won't be any oil and if we don't change our ways of using energy then the economy will fall down really fast. There will probably be another depression if we don't change our ways quickly.
